The Hex Modular set is an ongoing project that I’m doing to create a set of mesh hexagonal building pieces that fit together to create buildings, walkways, plazas etc. I’m starting with the plaza set, because it can also serve as foundations for the buildings.
Hex Plaza Set
The first releases are accessories for the larger plaza set that is still in the works.
Hex Plaza Streetlights
I am currently working on a script update for the streetlight set that will fix the issue with the minimize HUD button not working, and am also looking into an issue with the script deletion function. There will be an update to how the lights work coming in the future so that they can be turned on/off without the HUD and or work on a timer.

Texture Change
The streetlight set includes a HUD which can be worn to change textures on the set items as well as to turn the streetlights themselves on and off. To change the texture of a face, just click the HUD button for that texture that is in line to the right of the label for the face you want to change. Make sure you are in range of the set pieces you want to change. (See “Range” below.)
Please note that not all of the pieces in the set have all of the faces available. Only the concrete base variation has the “Concrete” and “Seams” faces, and the floor variation only has a “Main” color.
The “Seams” face is a bit special as it can be used as an LED strip along the seams as well. Just click one of the light bulb icons in the “Seams” line to see the effect.
Advanced Tip: Custom Tinting Seam LEDs – To custom tint the seam LEDs: First take a backup copy of your HUD. Then, wear the HUD, right click somewhere on one of the buttons and choose “Edit”. Tick the “Edit linked” check box near the top of the window, and switch over to the “Texture” tab.
Select one of the light bulb icon buttons (choose a button with a color you don’t plan to use, since you’ll be changing the color of this button to your custom color). The color swatch labeled “Color” in the build window should show the same color as the lightbulb icon on the HUD (if not, make *sure* you have “Edit linked” checked and try again).
Once you have the prim selected, you can then click the color swatch in the build window to choose a new color for the button. Click “OK” when done, then close the build window. Click the button on the HUD to change the seams to your new custom color.
Light
You can use the light on/off button on the HUD to turn all the lights in the area on and off at once.
(There will also be a timer function added in the future.)
Range
The Range feature lets you choose how far away you want your HUD to affect the set pieces around you. This is useful for setting areas with different colors etc. You can choose between 10m, 20m, 100m and full Region. (The distances are based on chat ranges: whisper, shout etc and are not able to be adjusted.)
Delete Scripts
It’s a good idea to delete all the scripts once the set is textured as desired, which will help cut down on lag caused by overloaded script memory. A confirmation dialog will come up before any scripts are deleted.
–This feature is not currently working, I’m working on a fix!
Hex Plaza Billboard Signs
I am currently working on a script update for the billboard set that will fix the issue with the minimize HUD button not working, and am also looking into an issue with the script deletion function.

Adding Your Sign Texture
To easily add a textures or textures to the screen of the sign, edit the sign object and drag up to 2 textures from your inventory into the Content tab.
If you add one texture to the inventory, it will be added to both sides. If you add 2 different textures, one will be applied to each side of the sign. More than two textures will have no effect beyond that, the script will just take the first 2 textures alphabetically. (I may add a slideshow function in the future).
Texture Change
The set includes a HUD which can be worn to change textures on the frames of the signs. To change the texture of a face, just click the HUD button for that texture that is in line to the right of the label for the face you want to change. Make sure you are in range of the set pieces you want to change. (See “Range” below.)
